Netflix plans to test a Weekend long subscription in India for no charge to expand their reach to the potential customers in the country.
The America based streaming company Netflix used to give free access to it’s new users for first month in the US. But the company keeps trying new ways to reach to the maximum number of users, said Greg Peters, COO and Chief Product Officer at Netflix on the company’s earnings call.
The company tested the idea of a $2.7 mobile-only monthly plan for Delhi customers before they made it a permanent plan in the country.
Netflix recently partnered with Reliance Jio to bundle its app on the Indian firm’s fiber broadband and mobile data plans. The company has also partnered with several financial institutions in India to make payment processing easier for users in India.
