As there is no vaccine for COVID-19 people are depending upon the Blood Plasma Therapy treatment.

Former military captain Mukesh Gombar, Age 69, was one of them. He had been admitted to a Delhi hospital after testing positive for COVID-19. Kanupriya (Mukesh Gombar’s Daughter and her family spent hours trying to find a plasma donor for her critically ill father.

Doctors asked the Family to organise the plasma therapy when Mr. Gombar’s condition began to get worse.

Kanupriya said they had no means just started calling and posting on Social Media to find a donor. She said her family was on phone for 2 days trying to find a plasma donor.

“On the 5th day at 4pm they transfused the plasma in him and within 6 to 8 hours my father told us he was much better and that his breathing improved. It was combined with various other medication which was also going on.”

Patients whose own immune systems are not strong enough to fight the virus are transfused with antibody-rich plasma from donors who have recovered from COVID-19.

People like Mr. Gombar believe plasma saved their life. Kanupriya, her husband Adwitya and their friend Mukul, based in London, started a website called which connects beneficiaries with donors.

The Lok Nayak Jai Prakash Narayan Hospital in Delhi is one of the biggest COVID-19 health facilities in the country where Plasma therapy has been going on for months.
