United States will ban TikTok and WeChat downloads from Sunday until Trump agrees on any last minute daily.
The department of commerce says both will not be available to download on any platform in any device. While the WeChat will be immediately shut down in US, people will still be able to use TikTok till 12th November.
Tencent – the owner of WeChat – said the announced restrictions were “unfortunate”, but said they would continue talks with the US government “to achieve a long-term solution”.
If a planned partnership between US tech firm Oracle and TikTok owner ByteDance is agreed and approved by President Trump, the app will not be banned.
